Details

Cerritos residents are invited to submit their application for consideration to serve on the City’s various Boards, Commissions, and Committees (BCCs). Members are appointed by the Cerritos City Council and provide guidance on various matters ranging from the selection and placement of public art installations to technical urban regional planning matters.

Eligible individuals will serve two-year terms through the last day of the month in which the Mayor is selected in 2027 (March/April).

Upon the City Council’s recent adoption of the Boards, Commissions, and Committees Handbook, additional BCCs have been added and their scope of work reconfigured to better support residents and key topics. BCCs include the following:

  • Community Safety Committee
  • Disability Advisory Committee
  • Fine Arts Commission
  • Historical Committee
  • Let Freedom Ring Committee
  • Parks and Recreation Commission
  • Planning Commission
  • Property Preservation Board
  • Senior Services Committee

To be considered for an appointment to a BCC, applications must be submitted online or in person at the Office of the City Clerk by Thursday, April 3, at 5 p.m. Learn more about each BCC function, eligibility requirements, and complete the online application at cerritos.gov/boards
