City streets to receive upgrades starting on April 14

Details

The Cerritos City Council recently awarded a $5.3 million contract to R.J. Noble Company of Orange for street rehabilitation projects throughout the City.

The areas that will be upgraded include Bloomfield Avenue between 183rd Street and 195th Street; 195th Street between Bloomfield Avenue and Norwalk Boulevard; and Norwalk Boulevard between 195th Street and Del Amo Boulevard.

The scope of the work involves removing and replacing asphalt concrete, deficient concrete curb and gutters, installing traffic signal loops, and restriping lane lines, arrows, and stop bars. R.J. Noble Company will also replace sidewalk panels, trees, and curb ramps. The company will also adjust manhole covers to grade.

The project includes installing conduits to create a secure fiber optic network aimed at connecting City facilities to support City operations.

The project is scheduled to begin on April 14, and will conclude by the end of summer.
