Pay Water Bill
Residents can pay their water bill by choosing one of the following options (please have the 16-digit customer account number listed on your bill ready):
- Calling the 24-hour automated payment line at (562) 916-1285
- Making a payment through the online customer portal. For more information on this option, check out the Online Water Bill Payment Information Sheet.
- Mailing a check to the address listed on water bill
- Visiting the Water Billing counter at City Hall
Set Up Automatic Payment
Residents can set up automatic payment through the online customer portal, or by completing the Automatic Payment Form and submitting the completed form to the Water Billing Division. Residents can also set up paperless billing through the customer portal.
Set Up/Close Water Service
To set up or close a water service account, please contact the Water Billing Division at (562) 916-1235. You may also do so in person by visiting the Water Billing counter at City Hall. Please have your driver's license and social security number ready.
Water Emergencies
If you are experiencing a water emergency, please contact the Water Division at (562) 407-2674 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. After hours, on weekends or on a holiday, call (562) 860-4018.
Water Service Discontinuation Policy
On September 28, 2018, the Governor approved Senate Bill 998 (SB 998). SB 998 requires water suppliers to have a written policy on the discontinuation of residential water service for nonpayment. The Policy on Discontinuation of Residential Water Service for Non-Payment is effective February 1, 2020.
